I’ve really begun to sink my teeth into this affiliate marketing thing. Previously, I thought, “Sell other people’s stuff? I’d rather sell my own.”
Well, lemme tell you, it’s hard to create your own products. It takes time, and creativity, things sometimes in short supply. And then you still have to do the marketing, and often create a demand where none exists.
I’ll keep you posted on how it’s going, but right now it looks pretty good.
Bumper sticker sales at www.Cheney-Palin2012.com are going well. Typing “Cheney Palin 2012” in Yahoo search shows that we’re number one. Our Alexa ranking is about 3.5 million.
This is one example of creating a product and finding a fairly small niche and dominating it. I think it’s made up of people who get the joke and people who think a Cheney-Palin ticket is a wonderful idea. What proportions of each I cannot say. I will be expanding into tee-shirts pretty soon and have come up with (he says modestly) a pretty outstanding graphic. I’ve gotta price them out and see how that’s going to work. There may be such a thing as over-saturating the market.

I’ve registered a new website (actually two): www.cheney-palin2012.com, and www.cheney-palin2012.org.
I admit it; I was at first puzzled the complete idiocy of this Odd Couple candidacy and then realized the genius of it all.
I’ve even created a bumper sticker which I’m sellling on the site and on eBay:

I just posted my new video on YouTube.com. It’s called “Library Book Sale – What to Buy (and What NOT to Buy).” Check it out at: http://bit.ly/qbxK2
It is a very basic intro on how to find books at library sales that will sell on eBay and what to look for to avoid buying books that won’t sell.

I’ve got two I’m thinking about. If these take off, we could go with tee-shirts, coffee mugs and baseball caps.
“Rush Limbaugh: American Taliban.”
“Rush Limbaugh: America’s Osama.”
Feedback appreciated.

I urge everyone to visit my eBay Book Guy blog (http://www.ebaybookguy.blogspot.com) for some information on free photo-editing software.
In my book, The Bookseller’s Guide to eBay Success, I talk a lot about the critical importance of good images of your books. It will do almost as much as a good description to sell your book. And finding the right software to edit your book photos is THE important part of the process.
Check it out.

And that includes me. After years of being online and watching others make money, I decided to try it myself. This is my first offering. Netceter@ is an umbrella company that shelters my web design company, my ebook writing and a few other businesses to be named later.
Right now, this site is mostly so I can have a business card with “Netceter@ LLC” on it, but that may change.
