Affiliate marketing

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

I’ve really begun to sink my teeth into this affiliate marketing thing. Previously, I thought, “Sell other people’s stuff? I’d rather sell my own.”
Well, lemme tell you, it’s hard to create your own products. It takes time, and creativity, things sometimes in short supply. And then you still have to do the marketing, and often create a demand where none exists.
I’ll keep you posted on how it’s going, but right now it looks pretty good.
Bumper sticker sales at www.Cheney-Palin2012.com are going well. Typing “Cheney Palin 2012” in Yahoo search shows that we’re number one. Our Alexa ranking is about 3.5 million.
This is one example of creating a product and finding a fairly small niche and dominating it. I think it’s made up of people who get the joke and people who think a Cheney-Palin ticket is a wonderful idea. What proportions of each I cannot say. I will be expanding into tee-shirts pretty soon and have come up with (he says modestly) a pretty outstanding graphic. I’ve gotta price them out and see how that’s going to work. There may be such a thing as over-saturating the market.
